BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The IVGHOF is run by an all-volunteer set of Directors that manage overall governance and strategy. It is made up of industry professionals and past Inductees in various categories, all focused on the common mission of recognizing, rewarding and remembering the innovators that helped shape and drive the interactive entertainment industry.
LONNIE MCDONALD
DIRECTOR
Lonnie “Joustmaster” McDonald, holds just about every world record there is on the classic game of Joust and has traveled around the world exhibiting his talents and training new players on the strategies and techniques of how to master various classic arcade games. His ongoing exploits can all be found, centrally located at www.joustmaster.com.
Lonnie volunteers with the International Video Game Hall of Fame as the VP, Treasurer and Board Member, focusing on Inductee Relations and Governance. He also serves on its Vetting and Voting Committees as well as being an International Video Game Hall of Fame Inductee (Class of 2016) for his gaming related feats and is part of the contemporary version of the U.S. National Video Game Team.
Lonnie also serves as Board Member and Past Vice President of Marriott Vacations Clubs -Branson and is a successful business owner and a technical expert in the cleaning and restoration industry. He has served at executive levels at the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification where he contributed on various levels to numerous Standards and Technical Courses.
In his non-gaming world, he is a Co-Founder of the Low Moisture Carpet Cleaners Association, an International Cleaning Organization and a Shareholder in the IICRC. He serves as LMCCA’s current President and its Shareholder Representative. He also served as LMCCA’s Board Member to Connection Trade Show, the industry’s largest cleaning and restoration trade show.
Lonnie currently serves as a Councilman for Jackson County Missouri related to the University of Missouri.
JEFF PETERS
DIRECTOR
Jeff Peters has been creating innovations and fantastical worlds within the video game development business for over 30+ years, generating billions in revenue through world-wide franchise development, top-rated game creation and solid business acumen, including executive leadership roles at Electronic Arts and SNK. He has also worked on such notable properties and franchises such as “Mortal Kombat”, “NBA Jam”, Madden”, “Tetris”, “Monopoly”, “Metro 2033” and “Tiger Woods” and developed top selling products with Viacom, Disney, The Void, Amblin, Warner Bros., DC and Hasbro.
In the Golden Age of gaming, he was also founder of the modern era US National Video Game Team and the top-rated EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) magazine in the 1980’s while also being pioneer in competitive gaming as well as one of the top competitive players in the world-wide scene with multiple world records to his credit.
As well as being a current Director of the IVGHOF, Jeff is also an active Board Member at SNK, Inc., developing innovations in VR/XR with Spark XR, Inc., consulting with entertainment related clients at The Bluff Street, LLC as well as teaching graduate students at the University of Utah as part of their top-rated video game program.
Jeff has been featured by SyFy Games, as part of their industry “ICON” series, achieved numerous world records during the Golden Age, possessed multiple Guinness World Records for video game related achievements, awarded the IDGA (Utah) Lifetime Achievement award as well as inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame (Class of 2019) for overall career impact and ongoing contributions to the industry as a whole.
MICHAEL KLUG
DIRECTOR
Michael has the coveted achievement of being listed in the 1987 Guinness Book of World Records for the high score on Pole Position 2, as well as going back-and-forth between having the #1 or #2 score on the original Pole Position, one of the most contested achievements in video game history.
Atari noticed the scoring achievements on their highly innovative driving game and soon Michael was working at his dream job with his favorite game creator.
He ran the QA department for seven years before advancing as an Associate Producer, Game Designer and Level Designer for the next few years, including being on the development team for Hydro Thunder, once of the first arcade games to use commodity PC components.
He later went on to work at both Konami and Namco for many years, building and running their QA departments and eventually joined his Atari alumni at Tikgames and Monclarity to work on more Casual and Mobile games.
Although Michael has shipped over 100 games throughout his successful career, a greater accomplishment has been providing over 1000 testers with their opportunity to get started in the industry.
Other notable gaming achievements include induction into the International Video Game Hall of Fame (Class of 2017), being the number one player in the world on games such as Subspace and Grand Theft Auto IV Cops ‘n Crooks.
Growing up in the Bay Area meant he could see all of his favorite bands in concert, including his favorite, Rush, nearly 100 times.
Michael is currently working on his passion project, a highly researched book about the origins of human psychology.
BRIAN CADY
DIRECTOR
Brian Cady enjoys maintaining and restoring classic pinball and arcade games as much as he enjoys playing them. He was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame (Class of 2010) as part of the inaugural 2010 group with verified world records on Tempest (extreme settings), Klax and Space Fever.
He is the Vice President of the non-profit organization that produces the Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show and is the Senior Twin Galaxies Referee for pinball.
Brian is a results-driven technology leader with experience managing complex cybersecurity and information systems programs, with a focus on aligning capabilities to strategic goals. Skilled in driving transformation through innovative solutions and streamlining solutions for large-scale environments.
Brian has worked in the IT field for over 15 years and held leadership positions at IBM, Washington Mutual and Microsoft. He also enjoys photography and writing and has had numerous articles published including several in the Pin-Game Journal. He is currently System Director for Information Security at PeaceHealth. Brian lives in Bonney Lake, Washington with his wife Shirley (who has the world record on Sky-Line) and three children.
BILLY MITCHELL
DIRECTOR
One of the most infamous classic video game players, with early roots in the Golden Age of Gaming, Billy is probably best known for his exploits in the documentaries “King of Kong”, “Chasing Ghosts” and “Man vs Snake”.
Proclaimed the “Video Game Player of the Century” at the 1999 Tokyo Game Show, Billy has enjoyed a remarkable career that included history’s first perfect score on Pac-Man (3,333,360 points on July 3, 1999) and appearing in the 1982 LIFE magazine photograph that featured the video game superstars of the Golden Age of video games on the streets of Ottumwa, IA.
He is also the iconic creator of Rickey’s World Famous Sauce, a highly successful bottled hot sauce group. Billy is currently based in Hollywood, Florida and is the co-creator of the annual Kong Off (the official Donkey Kong World Championship).
