Tim was the first person to score one billion points on a video game:
On 15 January 1984, at the end of a 44-hour 45-minute marathon game of Nibbler at Twin Galaxies, Ottumwa, Iowa, USA, Tim McVey (USA) had amassed 1,000,042,270 points. The feat was made all the more remarkable as McVey had used just one quarter to achieve his record-breaking score. The mayor of Ottumwa subsequently named 28 January 1984 “Tim McVey Day” in honour of this feat.
Tim was also featured in the movie “Man vs. Snake” about the history of Nibbler scores and the chase for a new world record.
